The Thrill of the Chase
Emerging from the frigid waters of an ice melt creek after pursuing the fish that almost got away, a young boar finds himself sharply in the crosshairs of an older sow that believes the fish is rightfully hers. It’s a story that plays out daily along many creeks and streams that empty onto Alaska’s Cook Inlet when the pursuer becomes the pursued. For those of us who come here chasing bears, the old adage holds true… The thrill really is in the chase.
