The tide is out on the Indian Ocean off of the African coast
The island of Zanzibar lies in the Indian Ocean. The tide is nothing like I have ever seen before. Daily, the tide goes so far out, you can walk for almost miles out onto the coral reefs and find all kinds of oceanic wildlife stranded in the crevases. As the tide goes out with a fury, it also returns in the same way. This is the calm after the tide has gone out. Notice the small boats, in waiting, to bring people back who have ventured out too far and didn't make it back in time to reach shore. When the tide is out, there is a sense of calm, that is fleeting.
