The photo shows a severely rusted mobile crane stranded on seaside rocks; the remains of a shipwreck – Greek freighter, SS Dominator – off the coast of Palos Verdes, California (March 1961). After learning of these remains online, I ventured to Palos Verdes to have a look for myself and snapped this photograph. A crow trailed me as I made my way down the steep cliff that gave passage to the rocky seashore below. Then, what appeared to be a hawk or eagle watched me from a large rock not yet swallowed by the tide, its piercing stare warning me to stay away. I pushed on, but a strange aura urged me to leave as soon as possible.
