The Unwinding

Dead Horse Point State Park, Utah A generation of dwellers, burdened and anxiety-laden, soul-searching and ever-worried, is invited to unwind for a few precious moments. We take thankful advantage of such a gracious and unexpected opportunity, with relief flooding our bodies as we turn our gaze toward the horizon’s sanctum. Ah, what power lies in the calm, the slowing, the constant and the steady. Suddenly, a humanity stricken and downtrodden, with an all-encompassing, non-prescient and unshakable worry of what’s around the bend, starts to see its way again. The present, illuminated. Unforeseen inspiration is the joyful cure of many an ailment. Longing, searching for a more futile pace of life, it is suddenly rediscovered, the blindfold finally removed. Hope reemerging, it is right here that we learn the lesson not how to escape from the inevitable anguish of our days, but how to live with it, and fully.
