The Usumacinta River between Mexico and Guatemala

Ever since reading the novels of B. Traven during graduate work in Latin American Studies I've wanted to see and travel on the Usumacinta River which forms part of the boundary between Mexico and Guatemala in the Lacandon Jungle. This photo was taken in Frontera Corozal and portrays the river exactly as a half century of dreams had prepared me to see it.
