The Valley of Flowers
In the Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir, India, there are few high altitude alpine lakes amidst the valleys between high passes. One of the lake is called 'Yam sar (Yum sarobar) lake, where , the local villagers believe that "Yum" (the god of death in hindu mythology) use to come daily for a drink. For that reason, the area is mostly deserted, not even visited by shepherds as well. So the valley has an undisturbed growth of unnamed plants and flowers. This photo was taken focusing such a flower, showing the lake on the background.
