The View from Turkey Point Lighthouse

The Chesapeake Bay can be seen from the top of Turkey Point Lighthouse in North East, MD. Turkey Point Lighthouse was built in 1833 to guide ships into the then newly completed Chesapeake & Delaware Canal. It was decommissioned in 2000 by the Coast Guard but brought back into use in 2002 as a "Private Aid to Navigation".
