The site of Tréguennec is both exceptional and mysterious. I discovered it when I was a kid during holydays in Bretagne. I was fascinated by the enigmatic blocks of concrete located in the middle of nowhere on the atlantic coast. In July 2020 I decided to come back to shoot some interesting photos of the unique architecture. When I prepared my trip, I did begin to do some research and learned about the dark story behind this place. The site was indeed amenaged by the germans during the world war II to become one of he key elements that allowed the construction of the atlantic wall (blockhaus, submarines bases etc). 400.000 m3 of rocks taken directly on site were transformed into gravels for the concrete of the militar constructions all along the atlantic coast.
