21st Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest People
The yearly painting of the stupha at Boudhanath, Kathmandu, Nepal
This is a World Heritage Site. Once a year the local men climb by ladder to the top of the stupha and repaint it by skillfully tossing buckets of paint to cover the surface of the structure.
