THEY FOUND PEACE ON THE LAKE

This photo was taken in June of 2019. Pictured here are my nieces through marriage. They had lived in a foster home since last Fall until May before they came to stay with my family and I along with their baby sister who is not pictured. When they came to stay with me the first thing I did was take them to some of our state parks. In May they went to Tar Hollow, In June they are seen here at Hocking Hills’ Rose Lake. I am a true believer that nature can heal. The trauma and the chaos gently lifted away for the moment. They were able to experience many new things such as their first s’mores on a campfire, their first time fishing, their first time on a boat, seeing turtles and snakes in the wild, camping in a campground. I can’t really describe what this picture means as it is more than what meets the eye. For these girls it may just be that they found peace on the lake.
