This is my grandpa. He was born in the California Central Valley in 1922. He fought in the Pacific in WWII and after he came home he finished his degree with the University of California where he met my grandma. They settled in valley where my grandpa's family has been working the land for generations. He bought some land, planted some groves, and in the 1960s built his ranch home. My grandparents raised five children in this home and today there are eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren. Here he sits in front of the fireplace wall he designed with rocks he collected from throughout the state.
