18th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest People
Those Grungy Streets of Bucharest
I took this photograph in August 2020 at a bus stop in downtown Bucharest. It was difficult for me, at first, to learn to love this grimy aesthetic, but when I did, I created this dark and painterly image with lots of abstractions.
