Threads of Love and Protection: A Bond Beyond Borders
After a long separation due to the pandemic, my return to India was a profound moment of love, connection, and tradition. In our culture, we tie red threads around our wrists for long life and protection. This photograph captures the red threads adorning both my wrist and my grandmother's. It's a symbol of the enduring connection between generations, transcending time and distance. I had tied the thread on my grandmother's wrist before leaving for the United States. The red threads represent a bond we now share, reminding us that no matter how far apart we are, our hearts are always connected.
