Three is a crowd

I was looking for a static flight of a hoverfly several weeks and , finally, I could observe what looked like a courtship of hoverflies (family Syrphidae), specifically Eristalis tenax. To my surprise, instead of having two flies (male and female), there were three flies, two males, with their characteristic static flight and the female feeding on the flowers of Eupatorium cannabium. The main difficulty was to get the three flies focused at once, two of them in flight.
