n the corner, in between private, public, and divine, a sleeping dog marks the shifting boundaries between the street, the home, and the sacred. The scene on one side radiates a great peace and a feeling of safety from the ongoing chaos of the street - on the other side, a sense of desolation and tension comes from the scraped off walls and the overall abandoned feeling of the place. The dog in the corner does not seem to perceive this ongoing conflict, protected by the safe cover of his sleep. Above all is the statue of Ganesh, making this ordinary door an entry into the sacred, a door of salvation.
