Tibetan Women: A Life Well Lived

This photo was taken at the exit of the Potala Palace, the winter palace of the Dalai Lama since the seventh century symbolizes Tibetan Buddhism and its vital role in the traditional administration of Tibet. A woman engaged with me as I was leaving the Potala Palace in Lhasa. She noticed a pocket was open on my backpack and told me to close it. We were not able to communicate but the connection was there. We took several photos together. She was warm and full of life; she touched my heart with her presence. I can imagine she has witnessed much in her lifetime and had wished we could go for a cup of tea so I could listen to her life's story.
