I started at the upper entrance to the Old Casbah of Algiers to ensure a downhill walk on the hilly, winding staircases. Picturesque, but crumbling, it is a walled Citadel with an old tiled fountain to supply water, lovely carved doors and balconies supported by struts. A photographer's delight.
