15th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Altered Images
Timeless
Sitting outside with my elderly father in law (by all accounts) we were talking about how time is measured. He said the first 50 years are your proving ground. Then he said the next 50 years are the important ones. He pointed toward the forgotten sundial near his patio chair and said, "This ole thing never loses its touch." I went and grabbed my camera and he joined me at the fence post. He fights dementia, but at the time, he clearly told me, "You've just grabbed time by the tail! Hang on for all it's worth kid!"
