Tortani

In Castelvetere sul Calore, a little village in the mountains of Irpinia, South Italy, women of every age (it is considered sacrilegious for the men to do it) gather at the communal wood oven and knead and shape dough while singing old hymns preparing the Tortani, or Holy Bread, for the Feast of Holy Mary of Grace.
