After months of study, constructing my cardboard filter holder, renting the lens and flying to my brother's place in Vermont, it came down to this 2 minutes and 27 seconds of opportunity! I had never used such a long lens and it was difficult to acquire to sun and keep it in the field of view. With such an expensive lens, renting was my only option and I only hade one afternoon before the eclipse to practice. It was time well spent and when the event kicked off, I was ready!
