The northwest tip of Michigan's mitt is populated with miles of lakes and rivers that have been used for centuries, by people native to this area, fisherman, pleasure cruisers, etc., particularly along the inland waterway which connects Pickerel Lake at the south end, near the shores of Lake Michigan, to Lake Huron, after winding through 45 miles of lakes and rivers and through centuries of local history.
