Tradition in the Last Light

In Brahmanbaria, Bangladesh, rice drying remains a vital agricultural tradition. Each day, workers spread freshly harvested rice across concrete yards, letting the open sky and sunlight ensure its quality. As evening falls, they cover the grain with bamboo mats, protecting it from dew while dramatic shadows mark the end of their labor. Despite the intense heat and effort, their earnings remain meager—yet this scene reflects not only the struggle for survival but also the resilience and heritage of rural Bangladesh
