Traditional fishing festival in Bangladesh.

Polo Bawa is a century old traditional fishing festival. 'Polo' is a kind of fishing trap made of bamboo. The Polo Bawa festival usually begins towards the end of winter. Because at that time the water of low lands, canals and wetlands started drying up. If there is less water in canals and wetlands, fishing is convenient. The villagers gather once or twice a year to watch this fishing festival. Many of them came for fishing. This fishing festival lasts two to three hours. After fishing, everyone got together and danced happily to get fish. Thus, this traditional fishing festival has been going on for centuries.
