Trailblazing Sherpas
Moments before reaching Mount Everest Base Camp, our group paused for a brief break, tending to some team members experiencing health issues. As we readied ourselves for the next phase of the hike, I observed the Sherpa porters choosing an alternative path—one less traversed by ascending hikers. It was only after several porters had passed that I felt compelled to retrieve my camera, aiming to honor the unsung heroes of the mountain. Carrying burdens exceeding 50 pounds of gear, these porters epitomize the true essence of Everest's dedicated trailblazers.
