I was returning from court in Aberdeen, Mississippi and notice this little church along the highway. Tranquil Methodist church was first built in 1847 and was the namesake of a church in South Carolina where the first settlers came from. The current building was constructed after the church was destroyed in a 1922 storm. It is still in use with a small but thriving congregation.
