Traveling Tree Frog

I found this amphibian in our woods, August 30, 2019. My husband had just got through saying that he hadn't seen a tree frog for a while. He no sooner got the words out of his mouth when I looked down and there was one not too far from us, where he was camouflaged on a big green milkweed leaf. I read that tree frogs rely on camouflage of like colors to protect their self from predators. I may not have noticed him at all except for the shadow and light that traveled on the leaf which caught my eye. They are very tiny with sticky pads on their toes that enable them to climb and leap quickly between branches of trees. I have also seen them on flowers. The summer of 2019 we saw lots of tree frogs that traveled around from place to place, but this year the weather was too dry for them. Happy I caught this memory in shadow and light where he stayed still long enough to pose for me, before he hopped away.
