Tree Swallows Connecticut River
Every fall, just before their migration, hundreds of thousands of tree swallow converge in Old Lyme on the banks of Connecticut River to sleep in the reeds on Goose Island. It is a migration roost site. This murmuration happens in August and September at dusk. The birds come from all over sometime forming a vortex as they descend.
