Tricolored Heron on Driftwood
We were coming back from a boat tour in the Everglades and stopped at a few favorite spots to take in the view and brave the mosquitos. With my husband waiting in the car, I spotted several interesting birds and started taking photos. This Tricolored Heron was busy hunting as I stood by the waters edge and landed on several perches before deciding on this great spot to fish. Peering into the water below, this bird stayed perfectly still, long enough to take a photo. Among the vegetation are trees and mangroves connecting to a wetland area.
