Turbine Tower

The Bahrain World Trade Center is an eye-catching example of sustainable building practices. Three wind turbines are placed on bridges between the twin towers, whose sail-like shape funnels the wind. The turbines can cover up to 15 % of the building's energy consumption. Like other gulf nations, Bahrain is preparing for a post-oil economy, based on tourism and powered by sustainable energy.
