Two Mother Emperor Penguins and Two Cubs

This image shows two female emperor penguins carried their chick at their feet while they were having happy talk. The chicks looked very very young- possible 1-2 weeks old. They could not walk by themself yet.The male hatched the egg and left for hunting and the female took over to carry and feed the chick. When both penguin were bowing their heads, they were communicating or greeting. The emperor penguins are very expressive and curious and lovely. They breed on the frozen see ice then go to sea. If there was no sea ice, they would gradually disappear! Warm climate is a threat to these precious birds.
