At night hundreds of cranes retreat to their roosting shallow water of the delta near Lodi California. The water acts as protection against predators, the water allows the cranes to hear them in advance of their arrival. The Lodi Sandhill Crane Festival & Organization promoting the awareness and understanding of the magnificent Sandhill Cranes that have been wintering in California Delta for thousands of years.
