22nd Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Natural World
Under the Garden Cosmos
Standing over five-feet tall, the cosmos stood tall on the last day of summer. It swayed gently in the wind, as its many branch-like stems reached in all directions. Each stem filled with blooms that were various pink shades and some with white stripes. Most looking as if they were reaching for the sun and others slightly hung overhead.
