20th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Artistic
Under the Stars
I went north to capture the Delta Aquarids meteor shower and stayed in my favorite campground. As I returned to the campground, I saw this scene with the embers of a camper's fire lighting the mist along the lake with the milky way in the background. It turned out to be my favorite image from the trip, I even captured a meteor.
