Under White Oaks, Rowena, Oregon

The Eastern Columbia Gorge lights up in the early spring with wildflowers, the Balsamroot being chief among them. They can be found on the high plateaus and hillsides on the Oregon and Washington sides of the Columbia River where the wet, western rainforests give way to the semi-arid, sagebrush territory east of the Cascade Mountains.
