Union of wings

Nature often delivers its magic in the moments we least expect. In the calm of the wild, a pair of Plain Tiger butterflies (Danaus chrysippus) are engaged in their timeless courtship dance . Widely found across grasslands, scrub habitats and urban gardens these butterflies rely on visual cues and pheromonal signals during mate selection that guide them through a complex yet graceful sequence of behavioural displays. Captured at a moment of synchronous approach, this behaviour illustrates reproductive ecology in its most delicate form of essential interaction that sustains population continuity within their ecosystem.
