On October 16, 2019, the Union Pacific Railroad Big Boy No. 4014 passed through Maricopa, Arizona on its way from Yuma to Casa Grande. The locomotive was restored to operate excursions in 2019 to commemorate the completion of the first transcontinental railroad in 1869.
