The SS United States, the fastest ocean liner to cross the Atlantic in either direction and the largest ocean liner constructed entirely in the United States, shows nothing of her glory days. Dilapidated and slowly rotting in the Philadelphia harbor, it is a sad reminder of how miscalculation and neglect can change the course of history for even the mightiest of things.
