This photograph is part of my series "Now You See Me," in which I deconstruct the reality within the images to reveal an underlying reality. This series asks viewers to look at the world with an alternative perspective. Ambiguity, mystery, and confusion take place within my work to invite the viewer to partake in making meaning in the images. Through the use of optical illusion, reflection, unusual or surrealistic approaches to making images, I invite the viewer to move around the image; to get closer or distance themselves in order to understand what they are seeing. It brings attention to the power of our visual perception and an awareness of our surroundings. Through the process of looking closely at an unexpected image we are indirectly forced to immerse ourselves into the photo - exploring its space, colors, shapes, texture, and meanings.
