14th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Altered Images
Untitled No.222

Due to my work as a historic preservationist, I am privileged to observe the urban landscape from a many vantage points. Having been trained in the fine arts, I look at the urban landscape through the eyes of a painter. My photography is focused on capturing form and contrast, as opposed to realistically portraying urban life. The color- the life in the city beyond the graves continues regardless of the saddest at the forefront.
