Upper Amazon Fishermen Net Piranha
Fishing is the main source of income and food for indigenous people on the Upper Amazon. Due to their poverty, they typically use hand-made nets and floats. Here, in a shallow hand-made skiff, three natives use a commercially made net to catch red-bellied piranha. They are very tasty.
