Nostalgic of a time when the islanders did not live on imported products, Abdullah -whom everyone in Qalansiyah (Socotra Island) calls "the Cave Man" as he was born in a cave overlooking the Detwah lagoon and has lived there almost all his life- is happy to show me how he survives with nature by supplying himself with fresh seafood like urchins, which he catches by hand on a daily basis.
