12th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Natural World
Van Gogh's River
We were touring the Cotswolds in England when I noticed how the eddies in the water made spirals reminiscent of a Van Gogh painting. I loved the bright framing of the flowers and the contrast between light and dark.
