Storks glide along the surface of Searles Lake. Their distinct monochrome color contrasting against the background of vivid yellows, oranges and browns. Flying above them and chasing their path had me feeling connected to them in the midst of vast surrounding emptiness. It’s these serendipitous moments that really have me question whether we truly absorb each moment, seizing every opportunity it brings to us.
