I traveled into the Tamil Jaffna area of Sri Lanka where exquisite temples were ubiquitous. Rows of bold-wide-eyed sculptures on the south tower of the Hindu Kandaswamy Temple appeared to stand guard over faces of symbolic people or deities. A pigeon in the upper left corner completed the scene.
