I took this picture from Summerset at Frick--a modern, residential community built on one of Pittsburgh's infamous slag heaps. The bridge crossing the Monongahela River is next to the Carrie Furnace--one of the city's former steel mills. It is a classic juxtaposition of old and new--the Pittsburgh of yesterday from the point of view of the Pittsburgh of today.
