Our trip into the Sossusvlei was actually cut quite short. Our vehicle got trapped in the sand and we spent the better part of our day being rescued, only to find out shortly after that we had been invited to Madagascar and had two days to make it to Johannesburg, South Africa to catch our flight. Given the view, I sometimes forget we never made it in far enough to view the most impressive dunes!
