13th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Natural World
View over the Peruvian Andes at 12,000 feet
During a mobile medical volunteer trip through Peru, my team visited remote communities, some five hours outside of Cusco and the closest hospital. Our medical caravan got stuck on the roads, as there is poor infrastructure, but it allowed us to enjoy the view.
