Starting in the forties of the last century Lima has grown a lot, the terrible period of terrorism has brought even more people fleeing from the country, the huge part of the extreme periphery is a slum with minimal services metaphorically called "pueblo joven" . The program "Barrio mio", promoted by the Progressive Alliance of Lima Metropolitana (Mayor Susana Villaran 2010-2014) has encouraged education and coesiona among the people, while increasing infrastructure such as the inclusion of trees in the streets. They are the citizens themselves
