Violet Green Swallow on top of bird house
I have a large flower and vegetable garden on my 3 acre property on Whidbey Island, Washington. I enjoy sitting quietly with my camera ready and seeing what nature brings to me. We welcome the annual return of the Violet Green Swallows and keep houses out for them by our vegetable garden and fruit trees. This species eats a lot of bugs! The plumage colors always amaze and they are acrobats in the sky.
