Floating markets are one of the most interesting sights in the Mekong Delta. The markets are part of life along the river. In the early mornings, the waterway becomes a maze with hundreds of boats carrying grapefruit, mango, banana, papaya, pineapple, watermelon, rice and many other “basic” necessities, such as blocks of ice, cigarettes and beer.
